The Frying Pan River is located northwest of Central Colorado near Aspen Colorado. It is well known as a great place to enjoy the sport of fishing - fly fishing and regular fishing. The best fishing is found below the Ruedi Reservoir Dam which was constructed in 1968.
The River is cold and clear and has plenty of places to fish with nearly fourteen miles of controlled flow; there are huge trout and very consistent fishing. A great deal of the river is protected with catch and release fishing so it is best to check the local, special regulations before starting out.
If you are planning a trip, the Frying Pan River would be an excellent choice for the novice and skilled angler alike. Its consistent flows help make it a dependable trip (there are always exceptions) then some others may be. Large trout, quality hatches, clear cold waters and beautiful scenery make for a wonderful experience. Come and enjoy everything that is a part of a great fishing trip, great scenery, plenty of large fish and good company.
