Roaring Fork River
The Roaring Fork River is perhaps the best relatively unknown river in the United States. The Roaring Fork River starts high in the mountain slopes near Independence Pass, Colorado and runs westward until it joins the Colorado River near Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
This river runs 60 river miles and changes from a meandering high meadow stream to a full-sized rushing Western freestone river which can be floated with McKenzie River drift boats. The Roaring Fork River has small pocket water to pools and large runs that may take several hours to fish completely. For a great adventure, you can combine fly fishing on the Roaring Fork River with skiing at nearby Aspen, Colorado.
The Roaring Fork River has 40 miles of Gold-Medal designated water which contains trout all along the entire length. Some of these trout can weigh up to eight pounds. This particular river offers some of the finest fly and lure fishing for trout to be found in the United States. This is a great place for excellent trout fishing and also the best mountain whitefish angling in the state of Colorado. It is a great place to come and enjoy the sport of fishing, while surround by the best scenery in the United States.
