Ruedi Reservoir
Sitting in the beautiful Frying Pan River Valley, the Ruedi Reservoir offers a fantastic scenic area for some of the most outstanding water and land based recreational activities in the western states. This reservoir is located in a very high elevation and thus the water remains quite cold. The lake even freezes over during the winter months. more info
The Ruedi Reservoir is surrounded by recreational facilities that include four campgrounds that can accommodate eighty-one campsites and two boat launching ramps. The available surface water for recreational use covers 997 acres. If you enjoy fishing, you will find rainbow trout, brown trout and mackinaw trout in the waters. Due to the extreme cold during the winter months, all of the facilities are closed in the winter. The first snow happens in early October and the last usually happens in April.
In addition to fishing, you can also enjoy camping, motorized boating, and sailing. The Reservoir has easy access. To find Ruedi Reservoir travel fourteen miles east of the town of Basalt, Colorado on State Highway 82 and then access the water by traveling on Forest Service Road #104.
