Glenwood Hot Springs
Where nature meets luxury, the Glenwood Hot Springs provide a relaxing way to spend the day with your family. Originally called Yampah Hot Springs by the Ute Indians, the springs were used as a sacred place of healing. The springs were first discovered by white men in 1860 when Captain Richard Sopris began exploring the area. In 1880, British investors purchased the springs as well as 10 surrounding acres with plans of building the largest hot spring pool in the world. Ten years later, a large red sandstone bathhouse, equipped with tubs and Roman vapor baths, was built.

Today the water activities span the area of 3 blocks. You can swim laps, take a dip into a therapy pool, wade in the kiddie pool, or have an adventure down one of the water slides. The largest pool is 400 feet long and 100 feet wide. The temperatures are kept around 90 degrees F, and there are 15 minerals present in the water, including sodium chloride, potassium sulfate, calcium sulfate, and calcium bicarbonate. You don't have to worry about dangerous bacteria as the pools are purified 24 hours a day and receive a complete change over every 6 hours.
