Reception and Ceremony
There are many beautiful locations in Aspen to hold your ceremony and reception. Some couples prefer to hold their ceremony in a small mountain chapel or local church, and hold their reception at a fancy ranch or hotel ballroom. Other couples prefer the convenience of having both their ceremony and reception at the same venue. There are many small and historic chapels and churches in Aspen in which you can exchange vows. Otherwise, most hotels, lodges, and ranches are equipped with beautiful ceremony and reception sites—indoor and outdoor. Even in the summer, the weather can be fickle and unpredictable. If you have your heart set on an outdoor wedding, it is wise to have an indoor back up plan in the case of afternoon thunder showers or unexpected wind and rain.
Flowers
If you are from out of town and you are planning your wedding in Aspen, it is best to contact a local florist rather than hire one from home. A local florist is familiar with most of Aspen's wedding sites and can give you ideas of what will work best where. Local florists are also familiar with which flowers do well in the Aspen environment.
When choosing flowers, keep in mind as to what flowers are in season at the time of your wedding; prices will be lower and your flowers will look healthier. Come to your florist with ideas and themes you would like to incorporate in your wedding.
