Roaring Fork Transit Buses
Roaring Fork Transit Authority offers free bus services throughout Aspen and transit to surrounding towns for a reasonable fare. RFTA runs a convenient route from Aspen to Snowmass to Basalt to El Jebel to Carbondale to Glenwood Springs. Between the hours of 6am and 2am RFTA’s buses leave the Aspen/Snowmass area every half hour to make the 1 ½ hour trip from Aspen to Glenwood Springs. Between Aspen and Snowmass tickets run $1. If you are going the whole way from Aspen to Rifle, tickets will run just under $10. RFTA buses are also equipped with convenient bike racks and ski/snowboard racks. Unfortunately there is only room for four bikes on each bus as well as an extra fee of $2.
Getting to and from the Airport is easy on a RFTA bus. Buses run frequently between the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport and the Aspen/Snowmass area. They run twice an hour between 6am and 8pm. Take advantage of the Roaring Fork Transit Authority buses while visiting Aspen.
