The Aspen Santa Fe Ballet is a highly recognized institution in the Aspen community. It was founded in 1990 by Bebe Schweppe, a long-time resident of Aspen.
The Aspen Santa Fe Ballet company has 11 classically trained dancers; the school that is part of the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet teaches local students of all ages. In the summer, the Aspen Dance Festival is held, which includes a five week summer dance series. The series allows contemporary dance companies from across the country to perform.
The presentation has received considerable critical acclaim, and is something worth catching if you plan on visiting Aspen when the series is on. The repertoire is an eclectic collection of dancing and choreography you are sure to enjoy.
The Aspen Santa Fe Ballet has performances going on year round, in the Aspen area and on tour throughout the United States.
