ASPEN SANTA FE BALLET Back home in Aspen this February, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet premieres a new ballet by the gifted young choreographer Norbert De La Cruz III. A recent graduate of Juilliard's dance program, De La Cruz was discovered by ASFB Artistic Director Tom Mossbrucker during last year's New York auditions. Promising to be a fresh new voice in the choreographic world, don't miss this young talent as he begins his rise. Also on the program is Jorma Elo's lush and dramatic work - Over Glow and one of ASFB's signature pieces, Nicolo Fonte's enduring ballet, Left Unsaid.

Details:  The Aspen Santa Fe Ballet company has 11 classically trained dancers; the school that is part of the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet teaches local students of all ages. In the summer, the Aspen Dance Festival is held, which includes a five week summer dance series. 

The Aspen Santa Fe Ballet is a highly recognized institution in the Aspen community. It was founded in 1990 by Bebe Schweppe, a long-time resident of Aspen.

The presentations have received considerable critical acclaim, and is something worth catching if you plan on visiting Aspen when the series is on. The repertoire is an eclectic collection of dancing and choreography you are sure to enjoy. The Aspen series typically includes a performance of critically acclaimed season pieces such as Swan Lake or the Nutcracker.
