Winterskol
Winterskol is Aspen's annual toast to winter. It typically takes place mid-January and it is a great event to plan a vacation around.
Aspen is full of surprises – in addition to fantastic skiing and snowboarding, the area also offers great winter events. Winterskol is one such event you don't want to miss. It dates back to January, 1951 when locals from the Aspen area made a decision to have a celebration of Aspen's unique Nordic lifestyle. Winterskol is a diverse weekend of different festivities, mostly consisting of floorshows at local taverns around town.
Aspen has always been a popular destination in the winter, but over the years it has really grown into its own skin as a world-class resort destination. Winterskol has evolved as well, transforming over the years into a distinct, finely-tuned event with major corporate sponsors, and talent from across the globe. At its heart, the celebration has kept to its purpose – this is the place to be if you want a week of fun in the snow. Winterskol is a favorite among visitors and locals.
