Old Fashioned 4th of July
Aspen is the best place in the country to celebrate the 4th of July. For some old-fashioned fun, plan a trip to Aspen in the summer – and bring your whole family! Enjoy some of the many events going on over the long weekend.
A multitude of different events take place in Aspen over the 4th of July long weekend. Participate in a 5-mile race, watch a parade, listen to free live music, take in a skating exhibition, and see the amazing fireworks!
These were some of the events from 2008, in case you're interested in seeing the type of fun you can have when you visit:
Boogie's Diner Buddy 5-Mile Race
Cost: $30 per adult; after May 31st $40; day of $50; Kids 16 and under $15.
Boogie's Diner One-Mile Family/Canine Walk Race
Costs $80 per family, which includes 2 adults and 2 children. Additional children are $15 each. $5 per dog.
Kids' Bicycle Decorating at Paepcke Park
Note that helmets are mandatory for kids riding in the parade.
Annual "America's Birthday Carnival"
The Early Learning Center's kids' carnival takes place in Paepcke Park. It features games, a BBQ, silent auction, bake sale, and souvenirs.
Old Fashioned 4th of July Parade
Takes place down Main St. A whole lot of fun for the whole family.
AVSC 13th Annual Community Picnic
In Koch Park, this event features a BBQ, kids' games, live entertainment and a beer garden. The cost is $10 for members, $12 for non-members, and $5 for children under 10.
